FUNDRAISING CONCERT FOR YOUNG SINGERS OF OC Newport Beach singer-songwriter Samantha Smith and her Young Singers of Orange County choir performed a benefit concert for YSOC with special guest The New Blue of Yale University – the noted female a cappella vocal group. Samantha opened the concert with a selection of jazz standards backed by local jazz musicians, followed by the New Blue performance with a guest appearance by YSOC incorporating what they learned that day from New Blue. This event - co-sponsord by Overture - raised more than $1,200, which was split between New Blue and YSOC. Thanks to all those who came out to support this wonderful cause.

Holiday Wine Tasting and Concert on December 5
raises more than $1,000 for Young Singers of OC
Overture and YSOC say Thank You to those who attended the Overture Holiday Wine Tasting & Concert on Saturday, December 5.
This exclusive event was limited to 40 people, and included tastes of a dozen premium wines from California, France, Italy and South America, plus heavy appetizers and desserts to go with the wines, plus an opportunity drawing for wine packages, theater tickets, CDs, and more.
After the wine tasting, we had a mini-concert from Newport Beach-based singer-songwriter Samantha Smith, a high school senior who has formed a non-profit organization called Young Singers of Orange County (YSOC) that is recruiting local elementary school children to participate in a choir that will perform at retirement homes, hospitals and local charity events.
More than $1,000 was raised for YSOC to help with the organization’s start-up costs.
